While I love vegetables, I am sometimes skeptical when I find them in places I don’t think they should be. Burgers, for instance. It took me a while to get over the fact that my burger was green even though I liked how it tasted. So I’ve been putting off trying a ‘green smoothie’ for a while, just because smoothies have always been a place for fruit, but I figured I shouldn’t pass up an opportunity for more leafy greens and other vegetables in my diet.
After researching lots of different recipes, I decided to try this combination:
- 1 small banana (I wanted to try a frozen one, but didn’t have any on hand)
- 1 tablespoon almond butter
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1 large handful of kale
- 1 large handful of spinach
- a dash of cinnamon
I’m sold. It tastes delicious and filling and I’m ready to start experimenting with other veggies.
